On July 25, 2023, Aardevo B.V., a joint venture between KWS and J.R. Simplot Company, headquartered in Nagele, the Netherlands, was subject to an evidence seizure by the authorities.
The investigation is the assertion of a supposed violation of IP rights of Solynta, a Dutch biotechnology company. In this context, data and materials are currently reviewed and secured. Aardevo and its parent companies are fully cooperating with the authorities.
“Aardevo is active in the research and breeding of hybrid potatoes, fully within the scope of the applicable legal framework and does not infringe a valid patent”, says Paul van den Wijngaard, Managing Director Aardevo. “We are convinced that the case is unfounded.”
